A Winning Streak Forecasted by Adidas CEO
German sporting goods producer Adidas will hit its sales goals if the company’s CEO Herbet Hainer is has done his forecasting correctly. Like many companies, recent times have been a challenge with sales falling in 2009, though only by 4%. However this must be put into context: Adidas had its best ever sales the previous year, 2008.
Hainer is optimistic:Adidas will, according to Hainer exceed its own sales targets the London 2012 Olympic Games alone should contribute £100 million to the coffers.
Hainer predicts that Adidas products will weather the economic storm stating. “Our products are not expensive” and that “people are concerned about their health, appearance and fitness”. Cutting-edge products such as the Adidas Forum Mid trainer indicate the company is doing all the right things..
Adidas is a giant in the industry, second behind Nike, which is the market leader. As well as big events the company is looking to expand its sales base into emerging markets and older aged customers.
